17 January 2012 - Falcon Road - sonnet

Got behind due to being totally engrossed with a new software program “Hype’, which allows me to build websites and do animations using Html 5.  Spent all night working on something for the new book, a teaser, which I’m also thinking of converting into a youtube clip, maybe giving me some exposure.  The new animation (and page) were uploaded to my site, SwordOfShakespeare.com   on the 18th.  So, I owe this blog two plus one for today.  Gotta get these done so I can concentrate on the book, so that might mean adding poems two-at-a-time so I can spend the every other day doing the novel.  We’ll see.
This first poem is about waiting for the day and preparing to join the hunt and watching those that have already passed.  Course, this hunt could mean just about anything, hey?
17 January 2012 - Falcon Road - sonnet
Disturbed, the road turned over in its sleep
but footprints mottled mantles nature made;
in springs of hope where winter lies there keeps
a watch by others keen to make the trade.
A fortune dressed in time and led by faith
pervades the time in which dawn dances best;
the rabbits thus exposed are easy prey
the sentries waiting there are patience blessed.
The ones still bound to earth and soil pass posts
while others heal the wind and scry the skies;
to them the hunt is more than passing ghosts,
survival’s breath is measured gasps and sighs.
Some know there’s more than making marks to leave,
and these are seldom those who don’t believe.
