This poem revolves around a picture I took while we vacationed (again in 2007) up north in Michigan, at Sault St. Marie. The two younger girls had both of the binoculars which I’d brought and Traci found a creative way to come up with her own. This poem plays on the fact we can see whatever we want to see, if we try.
25 January 2012 - Eye See - hexaduad
Eye see
there’ll be
a different way to view
the many facets you
unfold before my waking sight
a laugh, a grin, a smile again
a flirting flit
demure you sit
you’re poised to catch my breath
but lift my eyes instead
to find the ways
and change my gaze.
