This poem was penned using Motorcycle’s song “As the Rush Comes”. I tend to use songs as my tone inspiration and often, the words follow suit. Here, I’m noting that when in love, ‘Titans’ fall, and these Titans are those first principles that fall whenever compromise is had as it is within a love relationship. Thought to be immortal, we take these Titans for granted and often, don’t hear their cries when the veil of love is pulled back. Sometimes previous friendships or relationships within a family are such.

Titans of Love - kyrielle
There near the shore where currents live,
between the rush and and billowed weed,
there shorn like banks the ocean gives,
unveiling love has pulled the Titans down.
It mattered not where wind took seed,
of no concern or consequence;
hurt grew within the hollowed reed,
unveiling love and pulling Titans down.
Expelled from lips, all common sense
dove swiftly down ignoring depths,
shed chain’s denial and time’s expense
unveiled a love and pulled the Titans down.
We drowned as waves reclaimed our breath;
the reasons fell like Autumn leaves,
and intertwining lines of Death’s,
unveiled a love that pulls a Titan down.
Can tracing contours curtail thieves
of myth and legend, storied ends?
Will racing waters take or cleave
unveiled love that pulls the Titan down?
Beneath the surface, mystery lies
to veil the Titans’ veiled cries.
